1840 East India Company One Rupee – Extremely Rare Double Mint Mark Variety (WW..WW..sS Raised)

Description

Highly collectible 1840 East India Company One Rupee featuring the sought-after raised double mint mark variety visible below the bust truncation. An advanced die variety rarely encountered in the market, making it especially desirable among serious British India and EIC variety collectors.

The coin retains strong portrait definition with attractive original silver-grey surfaces and pleasing old cabinet toning. Reverse wreath details remain sharp, with clear legends and well-preserved rims on both sides.

The raised “WW..WW..sS” mint mark/die characteristic under magnification adds significant collector interest and distinguishes this piece from regular circulation issues.
